And so it begins. VillA, I think, is the first to drop a best of 2011 mixes and with the end of the year just around the corner, you can pretty much count on everybody to release their interpretation of what the year sounded like to them. I can’t hate though, this is one fantastic mix and there are quite a few songs that I had overlooked during the year but work quite well in this mix, then there are also tracks that I forgot came out this year. The tracklisting for this is available after the jump, it’s a long one.

U-Tern and Oligee aka Oliver are on fire as of late as Parisian label Kitsuné is releasing their EP for the track “Dirty Talk” which features remixes from Punks Jump Up, Black Van and Wax Motif. The EP also includes the track “Walk With Me”. If there’s any thoughts of whether this is going to be good, that shit can be put to rest with the sampler that was provided. Just one word: WOW. Out officially on January 17th.

Another solid jam by Oliver (U-Tern and Oligee) called “Footsteps. The track is pretty sexy especially when the vocals kick in at the 1min 19 second mark and the track breaks down a little before being built up into some amazing disco vibes. Also below the “Footsteps” track is a preview of an upcoming track between U-Tern and AJK called “Side Ways”, that’s extremely nice on the ear drums.

I can’t believe it’s been two years since we first started this mix series. Something that was conceptualized as a fun side project has continued to be fun and we always love hearing the feedback from all the folks that download the mix. We seriously had no idea whether you, the readers would like the mixes at all, but month after month it’s encouraging to see people downloading and sharing the mix.

This mix is for me, I felt was a tiny departure from what we usually do. This time around incorporating more RnB type jams, but overall the mix still maintains dance vibes. I’ve really been waiting to work in the Brenmar, Kelly Rowland, New Look and Neoteric and Wax Motif tracks for a while now.

As always let me know what you think or if you like the mix, just hit like on the facebook thingy below. Download or stream both available below. And thanks again for supporting the mix over the past two years.

Available for purchase is the compilation album from Aeroplane called In Flight Entertainment. The compilation album itself is pretty friggin good and it’s hard to stop listening. What’s actually somewhat surprising is that the compilation isn’t overloaded with his own material which a lot of other compilations tend to do. One of the stand out tracks on the album though for me is “Memories Of The Future” by Oliver. U-Tern and Oligee once again do not disappoint and put together an amazing track that must be heard over and over.

Okay, I’m a few days late on dropping this mix. Been a crazy week at work and have had to work weekends a few weeks in a row, so I didn’t have a ton of time to put the latest mix together. But with that said it’s here!!! I tried to avoid using some of the same songs as last month, but I just couldn’t pass up putting the Moullinex remix of “Cairo” and Oliver remix of “Big”. I also slowed the mix down near the end, reaaaaally slowed it down, I really wanted to put the NightWaves and Coeur de Pirate covers on the mix, so hopefully it works. As always let me know what you think or if you like the mix, just hit like on the facebook thingy below. Download or stream both available below. Enjoy.

I’m a big fan of Sneaky Sound System’s newest song “Big”, which I have on the latest Boner Jams mix. Now Oligee and U-Tern, better known as Oliver, have put an amazing remix together for the single. As with everything these two do, the sound is huge, the build-ups and breakdowns are quite good. You can expect to hear this remix on EVERYONE’s next mix. In addition to the remix, Sneaky Sound System also just released the video for “Big” which was filmed in Las Vegas and directed by Alan Algee. The album, From Here to Anywhere, is out on October 7th.  Remix below, video after the break.
